Harry's travelling circus For a week in early June, the Harry Ferguson Tractor Club of Australasia re-created a Ferguson promotional road show that took Australia by storm in the early 1950s. On pages 12 and 13, Stephen Gaunt tells the tale. |
The amazing Harry Ferguson Number one of a four-part series is on pages 18 to 21. First appearing in the Sunday Express in 1965, this series is on the life of the man whose vision helped make Banner Lane in its hey-day the world's biggest plant of its kind. |

From the FoFH Archives:
The famous "Archway to Prosperity" comprising two Fergies holding aloft a third to form a triumphant arch, became a hallmark of the company's exhibition stands. It provided the focal point of the 1955 summer show season in Denmark, as reported in the article in that year's November issue of Massey-Harris-Ferguson News.

Betsy's 3,176 Miles or 5,111 km, if you like. The daddy of all road runs: that was Terry Williams' marathon round Britain trek in May to earn him a place in The Guinness Book of Records for the world's longest journey by tractor (a 50 year old TE20). Not surprisingly, there's a few tales to tell, and his diary is here. How much fuel would that take, and how much tyre wear would take place? Answers in the magazine, pages 28-32: see the membership page, and get your own copy. |
Out and About with FoFH
Page 36 has an interesting article describing a FoFH farm walk. Jim and Jane Russell farm 900 acres, mixing conservation areas with high-intensity farming. Members had a full tour, and refreshments!
Holiday Finds in France G.Sherbourne reports his findings outside a garage that specializes in smallholding and garden machines. Take a look at one of his pictures (right). What's that then? |

Junior Ferguson The "Junior Ferguson" pages (46 and 47) this month feature 10 year old writer and Fergie enthusiast Tom Spinney. Tom's well written article leaves just enough space for the junior joke: nice one, Will. |
They're just the highlights: due to my laziness and incompetence, you've missed out on about half the magazine.
Three issues a year, all free if you're a member... Take a look at the membership page.
